This buildup can affect water taste and, in more serious cases, introduce contamination even after proper filtration. Our RO sanitization and deep cleaning service involves fully draining the storage tank, flushing all tubing and filter housings with a food-grade sanitizing solution, thoroughly rinsing every component to remove all traces of the cleaning agent, and reassembling the system with fresh filters if due. We pay special attention to the storage tank, since stagnant water sitting in it is often the primary source of odour and bacterial growth. This service is recommended at least once a year, and more frequently for units that go through periods of low usage, such as during travel or seasonal absence, when stagnant water in the system is more likely to develop unwanted growth.
